Dreaming of Joy

You know that dream you have, the one where you are finally living a life that brings you joy? The one where you wake up excited for another day because of what you know you are going to create with it? Where you lie down at night to sleep with a smile across your face as your heart is still singing from the fun you had in your creative projects and interactions that day?

Oh wait, here they come, all the reasons you tell yourself that you have no time for that dream or that you likely couldn’t make it your reality anyways because you really aren’t that talented, and you finish with, What’s the point really? What difference will it make in the world? Ohh, all the ways we squash our joy.

When you see a child having so much fun playing with their imagination, exploring new textures, movements, ways of expressing themselves, would you tell them what they created is nonsense, looks ugly, sounds stupid? Of course not, as you know that not only would be stomping on their joy but inhibiting them from ever feeling confident to explore themselves creatively again. This is the same act you are doing to yourself when you allow your inner critic to dismiss your creative interests.

Joy comes to us when we stop judging ourselves or concerning ourselves with what other people may be thinking of us, and we allow ourselves to simply enjoy the experience we are having. Enjoy feeling your body move to the music, Enjoy feeling your voice sing that song from your heart, Enjoy watching the colors, textures, story appear before your eyes as you follow your inspiration!

Know that the first step towards your creative project is always the hardest as you have years of momentum in avoiding this. Yet, once you push through that wall of fears (and how to do that is a whole other post), and begin that project you’ve been dreaming of for years, you will feel lighter, happier, proud of yourself and more committed to creating this joy for yourself every day.

I’d love to speak with you regarding your questions and comments below, perhaps share what your new mantra is for your creative pursuits or any struggles you have in beginning them.

Warmly,

Charity

Blossom: The Dance of Becoming is a multi-sensory one-woman show that invites the audience into a sacred dream   space where transformation takes root. Through poetic dialogue, evocative music, interpretive dance, and immersive visual imagery, we witness Aurora´s decent from heartbreak and hopelessness over the suffering in the world, into awakening, self-love, empowerment and soulful reconnection with Earth and Self. The play blends spiritual symbolism with grounded emotional truths. The animals that appear in Aurora’s dreamscape are more than symbols — they are messengers, mirrors, and mentors, supporting an inward journey toward healing and radiant transformation.

My intention is to guide the audience inward as Aurora reconnects with the Earth, her inner child, her soul's purpose,   and the quiet, radiant power within. May this production touch the hearts of all who witness it and awaken the   remembrance that healing is possible, and that every being carries a unique light meant to shine.-Charity Joy Rose

“Powerful, authentic, vulnerable & breathtaking.”

¨Blossom, is a powerful one-woman show—an authentic, vulnerable, and breathtakingly moving creation. It’s a journey of awakening, a living testament to what becomes possible on this planet when clear, loving intention is held at the center of everything.

Thirteen years in the making, Blossom is the result of deep dedication, integration, and unwavering faith. It reflects a life’s work infused with passion, vision, and a fierce love—for self, for others, for humanity, for the animals, and for this Earth. It carries a message both urgent and timeless: that unity on this planet is not only possible—it is within reach.

To witness Blossom is to be reminded of our shared capacity for transformation, and the beauty that unfolds when we choose love as our compass.¨- Shayu Talbot, Victoria BC

Charity Bryant delivers a powerful, poetic performance that beautifully blends vulnerability, artistry, and healing. Her voice, movement, and presence carried deep emotion—gently guiding the audience through grief, transformation, and renewal. Blossom: The Dance of Becoming is a testament to the light that can emerge from darkness—and Charity's gifts as a performer shine brilliantly throughout.

“Authentic, raw & visually stimulating—exactly what this world needs.”

¨´Blossom: The Dance of Becoming´ is an artistic blend of digestible emotional processing and promotes self acceptance. It is authentic, raw, and visually stimulating. The creator has blended the non-linear progress of self awareness (becoming) with accurate emotional presentations and subtle psychological supports.

Aurora effectively represents us all. Our inner feelings and fears. She shares the challenges boldly and with passion & vulnerability. The visual imagery is aesthetically pleasing and allows the audience to connect with both Aurora and our shared emotions.

The spirit animals guides expose the audience to heart based counselling methods in a way that is both acceptable and non-threatening. So much easier to open ones heart to self exploration when a loving creature shares knowledge not judgement.

Created for any level audience this production allows the audience to feel with and explore personal options. The contrast of the bare stage and bold video backdrop focus and entrance the audience. They are with Aurora as she feels and progresses and becomes her true self.

A beautiful creation balanced to hit audiences of all ages, children, teens, and adults. A great opportunity for parents to support emotional exploration and identification. A healing opportunity for couples or singles. It gives freely to the audience to encourage their own relationship with self and the world. May it encourage those in need of extra support the boost to connect with a heart based facilitator.

So grateful to have witnessed its first appearance, be prepared to be moved. It is exactly what this world needs to heal and bloom.

With gratitude & honour, the creator is pure magic.´´

“Taps into feelings of overwhelm, sadness, ‘not‑enoughness’—then leads you to stillness, hope & joy.”

¨On Saturday, May 24th, I attended Charity Joy Rose´s show, ´Blossom: The Dance of Becoming´. Wow. I had no idea what to expect, and wasn’t prepared for how wobbly this would make my heart. A very good wobbly. In the purest, most honest and vulnerable form, Charity managed to tap into a place, and into feelings I think we’re all very familiar with, especially these days. Feelings of overwhelm, of being lost, of sadness and not-enoughness. Feelings of… where do we even start? First- how do I even get myself up off this floor? We were reminded, and shown so beautifully, that inside us, there is a guide. We can be still, and we can listen. And we will find the good, and the joy and the dance and the hope. We’ll remember. We can find and hold our broken, little-me. We can start there. While I am a middle aged woman, and needed this show more than I knew, I am also a parent to 4 kids/teens. All I could think, through the entire show, was how badly our kids need this. This show would change little hearts; I am sure of this. Through Blossom, Charity has given us a road map. A map to finding the way back to our source, to access the deep love and goodness that’s sitting right there, waiting for us. There is so much we cannot control, immediately around us and in this great, big, sad world. Through Blossom, I felt that Charity gifted us the antidote.¨

“An ode to joy—treasure trove of healing for audiences of all ages.”

¨Blossom: The Dance of Becoming: An Ode to Joy

Do you long for the ancient wisdom of animals to help you discover your purpose and embrace peace and joy? Aurora, the heroine of Blossom, has embarked on that journey!

As we venture into Charity’s world, we are reminded of the pressing issues that still plague our society. Her reactions are heartfelt and authentic; her performance transcends mere acting. Through her connection with animals, which impart powerful messages celebrating life, Aurora blossoms into her true self—vibrant, joyful, and playful. This transformation culminates in a series of songs that resonate as the heartfelt prayers of her spirit.

Throughout the experience, the audience becomes part of the narrative, cheering and laughing together. The joy is contagious, unraveling the secrets of life and sending everyone home with a precious bundle of happiness to cherish.

This is more than just a performance; it's a treasure trove of healing that everyone should have access to, for joy spreads like a delightful contagion.¨

“Creative achievement that can inspire people of all ages.”

¨Charity's Blossom was an insightful, touching performance with an important message: believe in and love yourself and others. To recognize the strength and worthiness we all can nurture in the face of adversity and the dysfunction of humanity leads to confidence and resolve, to setting goals and fulfilling them.
The visuals on the big screen of animals as guiding totems offering their wisdom and encouragement added to the impact of Charity’s fluid dance and Aurora’s monologue.
The performance was a creative achievement that can inspire people of all ages.¨

“Wondrous journey of self-confrontation…beautiful, tumbling between tears, wit, fun & pure joy.”

"Blossom: the Dance of Becoming" by Charity Bryant is a one-woman show that takes viewers along on her wondrous journey of self-confrontation and exploration, meaning-making and discovery in our beautiful world during this troubled and tumultuous time in history.
The clever use of video-photography as a backdrop along with gentle music, interpretive dance and songs weave their spell as the audience experiences Aurora's (and perhaps their own) hopes and fears, longing and inspiration to make the world a better place.
Blossom has moments that may draw traces of tears only to be quickly be replaced by moments of quick-wit, relief, fun and pure absolute joy.
Do yourself a favour and go see Blossom: The Dance of Becoming. You will feel better at the end and be very glad you did! Recommended for ages 12+ "in my opinion."
